Many equipment housing applications require large open-plan rooms to house essential control and automation systems on a large scale. To fulfil this requirement, Portastor applies its engineering and manufacturing skills to develop linked modular buildings.

Individual modules are manufactured to stringent ISO9001 quality specifications by skilled personnel at our site and are fitted out to customer specifications with all integrated third-party equipment.

Linked side-by-side or end-to-end - the possibilities are endless
The modules are then transported from our factory to your site, where they are assembled on prepared foundations and linked together to create complete large buildings. Modules can be linked side-by-side or end-to-end to create units of any size or configuration to suit individual projects. We can even create two-storey buildings, if required.

Sophisticated buildings for complex requirements
As an example of the complexity possible with our modular buildings, we have delivered a 30m x 12m modular unit weighing 200 tonnes and housing pre-tested third-party equipment, itself weighing 100 tonnes. This entire blast and fire-resistant structure was supported two metres above the ground to permit simple electrical connection with minimal groundworks.

Fully tested for your peace of mind
All buildings are fully factory tested before despatch to customers. For linked modular buildings, we can assemble the entire structure on our site for factory acceptance testing (FAT), before dismantling it ready for delivery. Once on your site, the assembled building and its integrated systems will go through further site acceptance tests (SATs) to assure you that all equipment is fully operational.
