Innovative solutions for every application
At Portastor we have a long track record of developing innovative solutions to answer specific customer needs. As an example, we developed the high-performance, stainless steel LX Plus building to deliver long-life performance in response to rail industry requirements. The building has a projected design life of more than 60 years, which exceeds the service life of most installed equipment. The stainless steel body is corrosion resistant and is available in a range of finishes. It has an innovative anti-vandal exterior that allows easy removal of graffiti.
We design and manufacture blast-resistant equipment housings to protect sensitive control equipment in the event of an explosion. Our buildings can be built to offer fire resistance of at least one hour, as demanded by customers such as London Underground.
Large building capability
Our advanced engineering facilities enable us to build large single equipment housings up to 30m x 6m and weighing up to 100 tonnes. If you need larger buildings still, our modular solutions enable you to create equipment housings of unlimited size by linking individual modules end-to-end or side-by-side. Modules are manufactured at our factory before being shipped to site for simple assembly. Your complete modular building can even be assembled for testing at our factory to ensure that all connections are correct and all installed equipment fully operational prior to despatch.

The engineering and technical skills of our manufacturing teams are supported by a design team with access to the very latest modelling and design tools. State-of-the-art 3D structural modelling software enables our specialists to create buildings that exploit the full capabilities of our product range.
